What is it? It's a way we can help Father Anthony serve the Parish by keeping him informed of people in need of special services, such as home communion, hospital visits, rides to Mass or other events including both spiritual as well as social. This especially important now that he has assumed the added responsibility of administering Our Lady Queen of Apostles in Frankfort and Annunciation, the two largest parishes in Herkimer County.
How does it work? The Parish membership has been divided into 25 districts. Each district contains, on average, about 40 households. Because we have people from Mohawk, Frankfort and Herkimer who attend Annunciation, we have established districts for them as well. Each district has an volunteer coordinator whose main role is to act as a channel of communication and to help in developing further a stronger sense of the parish community in their area.
Who created the districts? John Gilmartin, Jim Garnsey, Al & Sue Morris and Dan LaLonde under Father Anthony's direction.
Who are the area coordinators? We have 18 people who have volunteered to serve as coordinators and their names can be found on the list below. You can find the area covered by those districts in the list below.
Can I be coordinator too? We still have a need for volunteers in some Districts. It’s not necessary to live in the district to become a coordinator and we would welcome more than one volunteer in any district!
